November 2016 marks the half way point for Premier Andrew’s government. They were elected with a promise to make Victoria a leader on climate change and our environment. So how are they tracking?

To mark this event, Environment Victoria, Victorian National Parks Association, Friends of the Earth, and the Wilderness Society are jointly hosting a series of community briefings.

We will discuss the achievements the government has made for the environment (including, announcing a permanent ban on unconventional gas, setting strong renewable energy targets and banning cattle grazing in the Alpine National Park) but also what important actions remain. What will happen with Hazelwood? Will the Great Forest National Park finally be created? Will the government set ambitious targets to cut climate pollution immediately?

There will also be an opportunity to consider how we can continue holding the state government to account on climate and the environment.
